Its been quite a while since i have done any aircraft, especially a jet powered aircraft. I actually won this kit in a raffle at a model show. i upgraded the cockpit to a resin cockpit, which didnt fit quite the best, so i had to do some persuasion to making it fit, and then had to alter the front landing gear bay to make everything work.
Not too many pictures, but here ya go. P.S. the worst part is the amount of decals...something like 400+

Nicely done. Just the right amount of weathering for a well maintained, operational aircraft.

I also built the Academy 1/48 scale F4-B Sundowner when it 1st came out. Great kit. Took almost 10 days to put on all those stencils.

the decals were the worst part, other than trying to fit the cockpit

Jesse,
the decals if I remember correctly were by Cartograf, while the stencils were done in house. I did kind of cheat and cut the tail decal into 3 pcs.

It's the end results that count, and your Sundowner looks great.

Jesse,
Then what issues did you have with the Cartograf decals?

i didnt really have any issues, but there is just so many of them. the tail decal, just because sheer size, was nerveracking, but i didnt really have any problems with it.

Jesse,
That's good to hear. It took me what seemed like forever to get 90%+ of the stencils on.

it definately helped define my love for decals, or the lack thereof
