Hi all,
I thought i would put the idea of a helicopter Campaign out there as i think it would make an interesting change from all the usual wingy thingies.
If you are interested please sign up at the link below and hopefully we'll get enough people to make this happen.

That's good to hear that you are interested in joining, all you need to do is click the link at the top of the page and then click the enlist button and then you're in!

Hi David - count me in - this my first campaign and I haven't built a helicopter in over 50 years . Am I correct in understanding that it doesn't begin till September?

Yes you are right, it does start in September, the reason being is that it gives people a chance to finish other projects and choose what they want to build for this campaign, so there is no rush to grab a kit.

I'd be happy to be #10. I have a couple 1/35 and 1/48 whirly-birds.
Options for me:
1/35
Academy UH-60L Blackhawk
Dragon OH-58D Warrior "Thugs"
Revell MASH 4077th Bell H-13H Helicoper
Hobby Boss FL-282 V-6 Kolibri (this would be built for my P1000 Ratte)
1/48
Revell UH-34D Marine Helocopter
Special Hobby Flettner Fi-265
Hmmmm........

I'm enlisted.
A quick look in the stash shows a mix of 1/72 and 1/32 with just a single 1/48 whirlybird.
In 1/72 I have a Hobbybosss Huey, AH-1S in IDF colours, a Revell Black Hawk, a Lindberg Sikorsky Jolly Green Giant, a Special Hobby AH-1 Cobra and from Airfix a Gazelle and Super Jolly Green Giant.
In 1/32 and all from Revell I can see two Navy Lynx (Royal Navy and Marineflieger) and their repop of the Matchbox Puma in German Border Police colours. Desperate for RAF markings for that one.
And lastly a Matchbox Kaman Seasprite in 1/48.
So a few interesting things to choose from.

Stephen, I know the problem. Haven't built a chopper in 25 years, and it turns out I have 13 in the stash???? All but one in 1/72, 3 Hueys (including one in 1/35), 2 Huey Cobras, a Loach, Jolly Green, Skycrane, Choctaw, H-21, Skyhawk, Sea Knight, and a Chinook. How did that happen?
I'm doing 2 of the Hueys for the Vietnam 50 campaign. Maybe one of the Cobras or the H-21 for this campaign.

I think last one I did might have been that long ago! And that was the Airfix Westland Scout which promptly fell apart all on its own. Only model that has ever self destructed on me while sat on a shelf. Maybe why I never built another.
I'd say either of those two would be good to see. A Helicopter Campaign wouldn't be the same without a couple of Vietnam aircraft representated. I would love to build a 1/35 Huey with troops jumping out of it, but where would I put it? And I just I'd have to go to the extreme of motorising the rotors. So I've resisted to spare myself that work. I can dream though.
I do find myself leaning towards the Seasprite. Not something you see done very often, even with a newer kit on the market. And I do love the nostalgia of these old Matchbox kits. Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I also have their 1/72 Wessex and Lynx somewhere. I believe their Lynx is actually an early pre-production version. Maybe a contender if I want to build something to mark the types retirement.
Decisions decisions...
