Hi mates!!!

Here comes my latest workbench-product: Macchi.C205 "Veltro" (Greyhound) from 21st Century Toys in 1/32 scale.
First, you should not look at this kit through the "Tamiya glases" 'cause it is a bridge between toy and modelling.
But I think it's a pretty good model of a Macchi.C205 of the Northern Italian "ANR" (Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana)........and there are not so many Macchi's in 1/32.

Built out of the box, painted with Revell colors.
Aging by oil paint washing and various pastel chalks.

Cheers
Stefan

I have each of the 21st Century Italian birds, with my 205 being a prebuilt. Got another 202 to try and build more accurately as my first was done when I was still learning to airbrush.

I wish someone would do these as modern IM kits. I can't afford to buy resin kits all the time and the PCM kits are hard to find now.

Stefan
You did a remarkable job in building this hybrid toy/model, as it really looks quite good, and certainly looks the part of model rather then a toy. My only suggestion is if you could clean the canopy and windscreen glass a little as if we can't see in, the pilot can't see out.

I read a review of this kit some time ago .the biggest improvement recommended was to replace the wheels as they are way undersized. The kits are really good there was a shop in U.K. a few years back selling them for £2.99. A lot of these tuned up at model shows under the table for around the £10.00 mark. A really good job not enough Italian stuff out there though.

Wow, you did a fantastic job with that. I have one in my stash and see it as a base to do a little scratchbuilding/superdetailing to upgrade it (if I ever get the chance to start it!)

Excellent job Stefan and isn't it a very attractive airframe.

A new tool I-M Macchi 202/205 series (Hasegawa tool up their 1/48?) would certainly go down well with the WW2 1/32 fans.

Stefan,

Excellent model!

I have the 21st Century C202 and recall it was somewhat toy-like. But this C205 - I do not see anything that says "toy." I you had not stated is it is 21st Century, I wonder how many people would have known it was not some resin or smaller company model? The wheels are small and the canopy is not clear but are those not issued encountered with many model companies?

Your Veltro is excellent. Hasegawa, Tamiya, etc., they better get in gear and kit a few of these or the demand for 1/32 Italian birds will be sated with these inexpensive models.

Thanks for showing us just how good these models can be!

Very nicely done. If anything, the base detracts from how well painted the Greyhound is.
