Inspired by the recent Vietnam Campaign, I would like to suggest a Koren War campaign or Suez Crisis Campaign. We had a increase in late propeler and early jet kits in recent Years which should make it preaty easy to pick. So what do You say ?

Both
I have two planes (and a tank) for Korean war in stash, but nothing for Suez crisis although it's more interesting. If it's only one of those, then either would be fine.

Would be interesting if we could get this one across the network and open it up to armor, vehicle and ships too.
Both are certainly interesting due to the types of kit in service, still a lot of old WW2 stuff around alongside the latest equipment. In Suez the IDF were operating Shermans, Mustangs, Mosquitos and Mysteres. Egypt had Halifax bombers while the RAF had Valiants and Canberras! And that's just a small selection. Same with Korea. T-34's opposing Pershings, Shermans and Centurions.
Suez gets my vote, but certainly not disappointed if it doesn't get through.

Korea's easy for me. M-41, F4U, F-84, F-86, F3D, AD, and even an A-26. Suez, maybe a Meteor F-8.

Howdy Y'all,
Count me in. I have decals for Jesse Brown's F4U-4 Corsair as well as the 1/48 Hasegawa kit. I also have Sioux Mash helicopter.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

How about combining them into a single wars of the 50's campaign?
Probably a couple of other conflicts that are rarely covered going on to.

I think it's a nice idea.
The fifties were not so quiet: the korean war, indochina and malaya insurgency, china civil war and the constant provocation between USSR and USA.

I was thinking Algeria and Arab-Israeli too.
And probably conflict in Africa and South America too. Cuban revolution? India and Pakistan?

So maybe something along the lines of "Hot 1950s in the Cold War" ? The rules could go like plane or tank involved in combat between 1950 and 1960 ? That would cover Suez, Korea, Algerian War, Cuban Revolution and First Indochina War to name but a few. Under circumstances we could also allow special entries that did not fight, but were crucial, like the Berlin Bridge planes for example ? What do you think ? Who wants to do a Communist Mustang ? Can we get 10 people to join ?

Ok so we are still missing a couple of people to get this approved. I was thinking that we could also include the legendary spy activities. U2 was operating over USSR since 1958 and it was certainly fired upon in anger by both missiles and planes like Su-9 and Mig-19.

So we got 9 if im counting correctly, we need one more right ? not realy sure about campaign rules. During my search for possible kits for this campaign, I came across another war that raged in this era. The Malayan Emergency seems to have had a lot of aircraft involved. For one, I didnt knew that even the Australian F-86 Sabres flew ground strikes against Chinese communist guerillas in Malaysia. Go figure.

Hi Jacob.
I hate to burst the bubble, but they are not F-86 Sabres. These are Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation CA 27 Sabres, built under general license in Australia, but not to the same blueprint dimensions. They are distictly different in the Fuselage as these had to be large enough to take the Rolls Royce Avon engines fitted. They were shorther, wider and lighter, and the engine gave more power to weight.
They also had 30mm cannon in lieu of the 6 x .50 cals.
Still a great idea for a build. If it extends to armour, etc, I will be interested.
Cheers.

I am in!
Early jets are my favourite topic. I am sure I can fish something from the stash for any of the suggested: Korea, Suez or a more general one.

Malaya would be a very interesting one to do. I think one of the boxings of Airfix's Beaufighter has markings for a squadron that saw action over there.

Thanks for the interest guys. So if Im counting correctly we have 10 people already. I would love to see armour aswell. We could go for a late start - maybe October 29th - thats when Suez Crisis started. The campaign could go for maybe 5-6 months ? What do You think ? I found another interesting subject. Spain actualy used its Messerschmit derivates - HA-1112 in the Ifni War 1957-1958 :

This campaign is APPROVED! It will run from 29 October (the start of the Suez Crisis), 2018 through 1 April, 2019. To see the rules and enlist, go here. Should be a good one!

This looks like a lot of fun. I have a Kitty Hawk Banshee that is just begging to be built.

Hi Guys,
Just a slight aside if you are into audio books I am currently listening to Max Hastings book on the Korean War very informative and the first hand stories really bring it to life.
Just thought I'd share.
