Hello,
So it happens that it`s the first WnW kit on my bench. I`m also going to build Bristol Fighter WnW with Aviattic decals simultaneously with this one.
What can I say - it's simply awesome!! Love every second of the time I spent building it so far.
The box picture is by Artro modelling (too lazy to take one on my own).

Hi Filip
Awesome! This looks all set to be another classic build for you.
I so want to tackle this kit myself, but I'm saving it for a treat once I get my book safely done and dusted - which, realistically, means next year. 'Till then, I'll just have to watch from the wings and enjoy and learn from your build.
All the best
Rowan

Thank you so much for your kind words!
Everything is so huge in comparison to 1/32nd.
I bought some Mercedes engine goodies from TaurusModels - they`re stunning.

The perspective of painting and putting decals on all these corrugated surfaces is giving me shivers.
This is what I`ve managed to do so far. The Mercedes engine still requires some touch ups. The TaurusModels add-ons are simply superb!

The engine wiring looks fantastic. Can you tell us what you used and how you did it?

Many thanks for your kind words!
When it comes to wiring I`ve used a wire that I actually got from old Christmas lights.
My Junkers has been painted and slightly weathered (more to come). Making decals to lay down in the corrugations was a test of my patience... I have painted the two colour camo for the first time.

Rowan,
A book? Wow! What can you tell us about it?

The model is almost done. I`ve fixed the engine and the exhaust. I`ve also carved the propeller. I`ve used the Proper Plane hubs and I must admit they are great products!

My first experience with the Wingnut Wings kit is finished and I must admit it was a pure joy!
I`ve used TaurusModels engine goodies and hand-carved propeller with a resin hub by ProperPlane.
Painted mostly with Tamiya acrylics.

exceptional work !!! .... I love that color scheme in black, I fell in love with the D.1 reminds me of the racing cars of the 20-30's, and being the first aircraft in the world completely in metal to enter active service he has his page in the history of aviation, I think it will become part of my stash very soon.
I am building my first biplane and the first WnW, the Albatros D.V Manfred Von Richtofen edition and I must admit "i got the WnW Bug", everything in these kits is pure art, from the sprue to the box up to the Decal and instructions.
At the moment I have prepared the Spandau with the Mastermodel set and I am assembling and detailing the engine with the spark-plug from Taurus,PE set from HGW and a bit of scratch-building, last night I reproduced all the valve springs, my engine is the 160hp version of your Mercedes and I wanted to ask you a huge favor, if you can post or send me photos of the details of your engine, because I noticed that you have masterly made all the connections between engine and cockpit and also connections to carburetor, I know that my version is a bit different but it's still easy to understand what's different and what they have in common.
did you also use the metal exhaust pipe from REXx? .... the propeller sets with the exhaust pipe look like a work of art
