Hi all,
With Christmas coming soon, i thought i treat myself on an interesting magazine or book about aircraft scale modeling.
I already have quite a few (e.g. the Weathering Magazine - Aircraft, FAQ aircraft) and now i am looking for a book or magazine that preferably describes the full build of one or few models.
Does anyone have tips for a good read? Type of airplane or time period of airplane doesn't matter very much.
Many thanks!
Jelger

Jelger,
There are three books I can highly recommend if you can find them. The first two are "Scratch Built! and "The Scratch Builders" by John Alcorn from Schiffer Publications. These are not on any particular aircraft, but cover a wide variety of aircraft in varying scales of scratch built, museum quality aircraft, many of which were IPMS National winners in the US and England, with descriptions by their builders on how they built them. Another aircraft modeling book I totally enjoyed is J.M. Villalba's "The Greatest Guide--Aviation Modeling Techniques" published by Accion Press. This book covers techniques for assembling, finishing and painting 7 different 1/72, and 1/48 plastic kit aircraft, but the techniques described can cover any scale. It also includes an additional gallery of 10 other aircraft with short descriptions and technique ideas.
