I've been tending toward smaller and smaller builds lately, and here is my latest project. It is DML's A-6E in 1/144 done in VMA(AW)-533 scheme, built OOB.
I wasn't going for any particular era, although I'm guessing DML was aiming for a Gulf War scheme. I had a hard time finding any good USMC A-6 reference photos, so I used the painting guide that came with the kit. I used MM acrylic dark ghost gray over light ghost gray with the darker parts (leading edges and cockpit) painted in FS35237 medium gray. I vaguely remember paint jobs like this, but then that's when I was a youngster on Saratoga!!!
