Hi there
That's a beautiful looking bird!... but it's a Focke-Wulf Fw190D, not a Messerschmitt.
Really nice job on the camouflage and weathering - and I like the way the aerial is drooped realistically.
All the best
Rowan

Beautiful looking bird! I must agree with Merlin, it doesn't look like a BF-109. Just look at the glass canopy. BF-109s have squared canopies.

Guys, the mis labeling is my bust. That's what I get for trying to do the article at two in the morning...lol! I've updated the text and will update the photo later.

Bryan - you deserve an extra medal for working that late... and on a Saturday night too!

Ok, I think I've gotten everything fixed due to my mislabeling of this aircraft. My apologies and Jason, sorry about that.

A very nice D-9 Jason. Got any more wonderful models tucked away
First of all you need to take some decent pics, well lit and without a cluttered workbench as a back drop. Then email those pics to Bryan. Remember he's a busy guy so don't expect them to appear moments after you send them, but if they are good enough I'm sure Bryan will get them on show as quick as possible :-) If you would like a few tips on taking easy digi pics just drop me a PM.

Mal is exactly right. I must emphasize the the pics need to be of decent quality. I can work a little magic in photoshop but if the pics are bad, blurry, cluttered, etc., I'll ask you to resubmit. No text is required to submit pics for OnDisplay feature. The email to send pics is: [email protected]

thats very helpful fellas,i'm working on a tornado at the minute, thats coming along nicely and i got a decent camera for xmas, so i can take decent pics of my stuff now.however, surely not having a cluttered workbench background breaks with years of tradition?

Bender,
Horrido! Excellent piece. I appreciate the semigloss finish that seems to have been a Luftwaffe standard.
One thing about FW-190Ds overlooked in our mania to fill all gaps. I've noted that on top of Dora's fuselage there is a significant gap where the sheet metal was overlaped, and not flush. Good shots of this on the book about the Champlin Museum's Dora restoration (I was there in 1990 when her Jumos was fired up for the first time in--how long? What a sound!).
Has anyone else noted if this was on the -190As?

basically the fw190 family was the same airframe from A thru D, the only difference was from the cockpit forward, and on the D model the extension plug that fit just before the tail, so if the seam was there on one version, it was most likely there on all the rest.
hope this helps
