Hi all,
I am wanting to hang some of my planes from the ceiling in my room. Any of you that have all ready hung your aircraft...for hanging your planes safely and to where they look really good, what are your tips for attaching the lines to the plane, how many lines do you use, etc... all advice appreciated.
I tried searching around in the forums but didn't have any luck yet in finding anyone discussing this but if anyone knows of a thread or info you can point me too, that would be appreciated very much also.

Thanks everyone and good modeling,
Wayne

I use fishing string, I tye it into a circle, and loop it around the best BP on thje plane i.e the fuselage, or the wings.

I've always used cotton (dressmakers thread) tied in a loop, one end under the nose and the other under the tail and hang from a drawing pin (thumb tack) pushed into the ceiling. Even 1/48 twins are hung like this with no dmage as yet.

I have a single 10lb (4kg) breaking strain fishing line spanning my ceiling. I hang the aircraft from 2 or 3 loops of 2kg line so they are about 6 inches below the main line. If 2 loops 1 for the tail and the other behind the prop spinner. 3 loops are 1 for the tail and 1 for each wing. The loops are all different sizes and generally the friction between the 2 lines will hold the loops is whatever position you place them so that the plane can be banking diving etc.

Every couple of months I get them down to remove the dust and cobwebs (and check out the poor - paintjob, decals, finish or whatever that made me hang them up out of reach of close inspection

BTW all mine are 1/48scale and I think aircraft are meant to be in the air.

I use fishing line, put one line in each wing and one in the tail, then connect them in the middle and have the one line they merge to form reaching the cieling
