Hi guys!!!
Here comes my new "Vintage Project". Monogram's good old P-40E "Warhawk" in 1/48 scale.
I really like these old kits and I have a big bunch of it in my stash.
Built out of box, only cannulas for the plasticguns and the pitot tube.
Stretchable yarn as antenna wire.
Colours from Gunze and Revell.

Hi Joe !!!
Thank you ....... yes, Oldie but Goldie !! I like these classic kits and think that they do not have to hide behind the "youngsters" in the showcase.
I used olive green 66 (Revell) for the camouflage painting.

A P-40! This has got to be good!
Stefan, really good job with this old beauty. Meaningless trivia - it is a Revell kit issued in the late 1970s. In the 1980s Monogram acquired Revell and improved the kit through the Pro-Modeler line. This model was one of only 2 1/48 P-40Es until AMT and Hasegawa came to the rescue, the other one was by Otaki (Arii). I think this one is the best of the two 1970s P-40Es. It may not be the modern gee-whiz Hasegawa kit but it is much easier to build and still looks good.
I, too, like vintage models and hope that you post more.

Stefan,
If interested, here is a comparison build of 3 (actually 2) 1/48 P-40Es. Your Revell/Monogram kit is not one of them but it may be interesting.
