Getting together some flight deck crew for a build and need some help with a few things.
I know the deck crew have coloured shirts so others can recognise their duties and those colours I understand, however I found out that green shirts (maintenance crew) also have markings on their shirts to denote their trade.
Can anyone help with these markings?

Also the plane captain (brown shirt) do they have anything on them that sets them apart from other brown shirts?

Green shirts are as follows:

Photographers: black P on the front and back

Maintenance: Vertical black stripe with squadron designator above it (VF 101, etc) on front and back

Ground Support Equipment: GSE on front and back

An excellent reference source is the book, 'Carriers - United States Naval Air power in Action' by Tony Holmes & Jean-Pierre Montbazet. It is published by Military Press, New York (ISBN 0-517-01219-7), and includes many excellent photographs of modern US naval aircraft, flight decks, and (exactly what you are looking for) details of flight deck crew.
Certainly worth checking out!
