I'm in! Didn't even check the dates. Most likely a Wildcat or a Tomcat on a carrier deck.

Michael, thanks for the start time.
Mark, I will be waiting to see your carrier deck.

I'll join.
Got a couple of Skyraiders planned, so might as well join in with one.
Only question is which one to build?

I'm in for this one. I've got a Corsair sitting around waiting to be built.

@ Stephen: love to see the Skyraider ever since I was able to climb all over one while in the NAVY. Thats a BIG airplane.
@John: I did not go with one of the (5) F4U kits in my stash since I knew there would be several. What Kit are you building?

Bob, have to admit that I'm more than a little bit envious! Never had the opportunity to see one up close. The Fleet Air Arm museum in the UK has two in the reserve collection, so I'm hopeful they'll make it to public display sometime.
Speaking of which my three choices are a RN AEW1, an EA-1E and AD-4N all at 1/48. Leaning towards the AEW as it's the more unusual of the three with that big radome under the belly. Plus the Suez stripes look great!

I like that you are building a "Guppy". The last time I saw a kit was in 1982 and it was by ESCI. And I did not pick it up.
Suez scheme will look really nice.

It's the Italeri boxing, so probably the same kit. I think it's still out on release if you're still looking.
Currently working on a VNAF A-1J, again the Italeri boxing. It's going to be a guinea pig to try out the oily exhaust staining before I commit to the much nicer Tamiya.

Stephen, once you have accomplished your oily application I will view your posts to see how it is done. I have never done it, but need to learn.

I was thinking of using oil paint. Has the same properties of the real stuff and is easy to clean up from an acrylic base coat if it doesn't go well. Only downside is the long drying times! Thought about using weathering powders, but they don't have the greasy finish that you see smeared down the sides of an A-1.
Will post a thread when I get to that point and share my attempt, so hope it will be of help.

Yesterday I thought that I had found the kit for thie campaign. A Fine Molds 1/48 Kugisho D4Y4 Judy.
Today the seller emailed me to refund my money ($35.99 USD) stating that He had miscounted his inventory.
So I found a Hasegawa 1/48 Nakajima B5N2 Type 97 Kate for $27.85 USD shipping included.
A better deal.
