I'm in the process of putting together an Eduard DV and as I'm not keen of the supplied paint schemes, so after downloading WNW instructions for the Richthofen release I've decided upon the JASTA 11 late 1917 scheme red nose, green tail

However the instructions don't show the colour of the wing between the landing gear. I'm guessing blue underside but the upper?
Any ideas please.

Based upon the red struts I'm guessing it'll be overall red.

but if you check the tip of the wings on the profiles you can see the purple,so it should be the purple / green camo, even in the WnW profile it shows the purple / green wings

Yep that's the one.
The WNW paint guide shows two of the five from underneath the full aircraft,not just the wings The all red DV and One with camo wings and red fuselage which doesn't appear to have the interlanding gear wing at all. I might just have to give WNW an email but its just occured to me that given they don't mention it,perhaps they don't know.Hmmmm something to ponder.

That same website says the wings were finished in one of two ways; purple and green on top, light blue underneath or five color lozenge...

Lozenge fabric was introduced during 1917. Before that, the plain fabric was painted in purple/green camouflage. It was common to see a mix of camouflage types during the last 2 years of the war.

Thanks everyone for your input on this I'll be going with wood for the strut. I need to now mask up the wing ribs final blue spray,do the upper wing spray and mask, assemble, decal,touch up and boom done.

Well after I write 2 pharmacology papers and a research methods one then uni will be over for the year, so then finish Albatross,finish p-51b(tamiya) ,start & finish P-51D and Spitfire mk1/1a(airfix)and for the week of new year run 20km per day for 7 days so no pressure then.
