Andras Donaszi shares with us a look at the collection on display at RAF Hendon in London. I will be honest and say I prefer Cosford as the lighting is far superior, but there are some excellent exhibits to see at Hendon.

Hendon has the advantage of being more convenient for non-UK travelers, too: get on the Northern Line and walk about half a mile from the Colindale station. No need to rent a car if you're already visiting London like with Cosford or Duxford.
And here are some brighter photos from my visit some ten years ago.

It's also not a million miles away from Hannants' London location (although these days it's farther than around the corner from the tube stop that it was when I visited lo, these many years ago).

I think you'd be bitterly disappointed with Hannants store close to the museum. It's nothing in comparison to their other branch in East Anglia. Sorry to say this one is Hannants in name only. My local model shop stocks a more comprehensive range than the Hendon shop.

What a pity. The visit to Hannants was such a nice closer to a visit to the museum

On the itinerary for the next trip to the UK along with Duxford, FAA museum, and Portsmouth!

I've been to Hendon a few times myself, though I never made it to the nearby Hannants store. (Didn't know it was there). It's a wonderful day trip for the visitor to London, and I get nostalgic thinking of my visits there. What a shock to see the Boulton Paul Defiant night-fighter the first time and some of the more exotic captured Luftwaffe night-fighters too. And going inside the Sunderland--remarkable! And of course, there are all those WWI A/C, which are now a full century old.
I guess it reminds me how old I am but in a good way, and how much my love of military aviation has been a lifelong experience for me.
Yeah, I do recommend it, despite the lighting!
