Hi Guys,

Does anyone do markings for the A-4e that John McCain flew when he was shot down?? I know it was the Cag’s aircraft he was in & that it was originally an aircraft of the USS Forrestal, from what I have kindly been told by others on here.

Also did they repaint the USS Orishany’s name on the aircraft & if so, would any of the old markings from the USS Forrestal & the squadron it belonged to be visible after a repaint??

Sorry for all the questions but as an armour builder I have no idea, and no spares box of aircraft decals lol

Cheers
Mike

Mike,

Here's some info I've found over the years:

I believe the second one is the one in which he was shot down. As its markings are rather generic, it shouldn't be too hard to piece together if no one makes specific decals for it.

Hope this helps!

Michael

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the reply, you are correct re the second image being the aircraft that McCain was shot down in, I will have to hope that some makes the decal sheet for it!!

Cheers
Mike
