Thanks

I've looked at the larger photos but can't make anything out at all. I looked through this reference:
https://media.defense.gov/2010/Dec/02/2001329899/-1/-1/0/AFD-101202-002.pdf but didn't make it all the way through. There are several units that use a triangle but none that I could see that matched.
Great nations do not fall because of external aggression; they first erode and decay inwardly, so that, like rotten fruit, they fall of themselves. The strength of a country is the sum total of the moral strength of the individuals in that country.

Does MATS mean anything to you? I'm thinking Military Air Transport Service, but I'm not sure that's actually what those letters are.
The other thing is - that wasn't started until 1948. This image is supposedly from a wartime photo.
By the way, I did mange to make it through all 853 pages of that document. There are indeed many squadrons that used a triangle in some fashion, but none I was looking for. For anyone not very computer savvy like myself, I imagine you can do a control F to search for particular aircraft, particular missions, etc... Very useful.
