Nice review Tim thank you though as you say, it is testimony to the superb job that Eduard did with the base kit parts that questions whether this 'upgrade' set is really necessary.. and for a price probably approaching or exceeding that of the kit itself (I picked a brand new D5 boxing kit up for £17.50 from a trader last week at the Bolton IPMS).
Whilst I am sure the resin pit will look superb once painted and exposed to high visibility Photoshop studio photos for modelling magazines etc, will it (really) make much visual difference in small 1/48 once the the model's fuselage is closed up?
The P-51 by Eduard is just about the complete package OOB for 1/48.
