I have completed some of the Minicraft Model Kits - No. 11675 - 1:48 for the C150. Wonder if you could point me towards an appropriate Cessna 152 kit? Is there a conversion or mod that others have tried as well? I changed the C150 Aerobat kit into a C150L by filling in the skylight, wing light and adding a nose landing light. Matched a Cessna N10777 I had flow a couple of times in New Orleans. Hope to likewise create a C152 model of tail number N24720. Any hints on how to proceed?

This is the version I'd like to match in 1/48 scale - Thanks!

IIRC, the difference between a 150 and a 152 is about 50mm inserted into the nose ahead of the firewall. In 1/48 that's just about 1mm difference. Do you feel it's worth it?

I've been looking for conversion as well. I want to do one of the 152s I learned on towards my PPL.

That is helpful. If it is only adding a spacer on the firewall, that seems simple enough, but I thought the 152 had more shoulder/elbow room added to the cabin and door width as well? Trying to see what others have tried? Guess no plastic kits available straight out of the box? Wish I could at least find the correct gear wheels in 48 scale? Appreciate the comments. Need to dig deeper...

Heller's 1/50 kit had the later style wheel pants if that's what you're after. I've had a scheme planned for ages to pack the Minicraft kit's wheel pants with Milliput and sand it to shape after it dries.

The gear I was looking for was as in the initial posting. Just wheels with no pants. Most of the Cessna 150 or 152 trainers that I have seen as rentals do not have any wheel pants. The covering makes it more difficult to inspect tire wear, tire pressure, brakes, and the like. All the touch and go activity is hard on the tire life.

So far I have only seen the C172 Civil Air Patrol kit (Cessna 172 Civil Air Patrol -- Plastic Model Airplane Kit -- 1/48 Scale -- #11651) and the O-1 Bird dog with wheels. Both of these kit options have differences from the wheels in my first photo above.

I will look at the 1/50 kit as not heard of that. Would love to see the work you've tried in the past.

If you have a Minicraft 172 kit, you can rob the gear from it. Perhaps Minicraft would be willing to sell you those parts? Sadly all my 1/48 general aviation kits didn't survive a move a few years back so I have none to show off anymore
