Anyone interested in a Korean War campaign? It could be limited to aircraft or we could open it up to the whole KitMaker community. I'd be looking at a June start date (70th anniversary and all).
Whaddaya think?

Always up for a Korean War campaign. Might have an F-86 or an F-84 somewhere. maybe even aa F-82 Definitely have a F3D-night fighter, I want to convert an F7F-3 to an F7F-3N both for VMF-513 (WF tail Code). I have a slightly started Walker Bulldog (too late?), a VMF-513 F4U-5N and an F-80 from then I'm trying to finish.

Not much action here, so I'm giving this one a bump.

I'm going to be starting a dual build of Special Hobby's 1/48 AF-2 Guardians -- Hunter and Killer -- in the near future so count me in.
I will confirm that the ones I build were deployed to the Korean theatre.

I would be in if it was extended as I have a Korean War Duster.

I have an F-86 that I started years ago and shelved that shouldn't be too far along to qualify so I'd be down for this.
This seems a like a great time for a Korea campaign.

I wouldn't object to making it longer. That's 8 so far!

Sorry for the confusion

Ah, Michael, I think he means he wants to add targets to the campaign.

I am in!
I have a ton of cool stuff in all kinds of scales. Maybe build my old Monogram 1/48 duel set with a MIG-15 and a Sabre. I think there is even a stand in the box for the birds.

Hi Michael,
it might be a good idea to open it up to all groups such as armour and figure builders... you might get a better draw that way.
count me in if that happens
cheers,
Klaus

Ah, I see (said the blind man, as he picked up a hammer and saw)! He thinks we should include crawly and swimmy things. I have no problem with that! And I will adopt David's suggestion of advertising in their forums as well. Could be fun!

Greetings from the ground! Saw your call on Armorama and would be interested - what's the end date? Also, is it only new builds, or can "shelf queens" come in too? (Got both, but looking for mojo to finish off a stalled M36B2 build...)

I figure 10 months for this one, so if it starts in June it would end in April of next year. Normally my campaigns allow anything up to 25% started.
Welcome!

I have several possibilities for this campaign, should be interesting!

I'm in. Most likely with an F3D Skynight unless I can find a F7F-3N conversion set for the old Monogram F7F-3 kit.
Ribbon ideas

US Korea Service medal

Korean War Service Medal

United Nations Service medal for Korea.
Well that didn't work I'll have to retry it on my home computer.
OK, that's better. All images via Wikipedia.

I had a perfectly good kit waiting just for this campaign - Dragon/Cyberhobby M46 Patton. Unfortunately, since DS tracks were horrible for a few years, the tracks have disintegrated on mine
Nonetheless, I'm still interested. I have an old Tamiya M4A3E8 Korean War version that I can build
EDIT: It's a shame it is still in a few months though. The amount of backlog I'm able to clear with the covid-19 quarantine has been quite satisfactory.

Hi Guy,
That time frame could work for me. I've got the old Lindberg kit of the USS Sentry, Admirable class minesweeper. I was thinking of doing it as the USS Pirate, AM-275 or USS Pledge, AM-277 which were sunk by mines while clearing the channel into Wonsan harbor. It will be a fairly OOB build.

All signed up! My M36 is too far along for the 25% rule, but I've got loads of other candidates in the stash - M46, M4A3E8, Centurion, Cromwell etc...
(I'd build a figure of my dad, but he was rotated Stateside at the end of '49 and missed the shooting. Not sure if his presence might have
caused it though...

Agreed. It would be nice to see ships and land vehicles from the conflict. And a good way of honoring all vets.
