One thing about FW-190Ds overlooked in our mania to fill and sand flush all gaps. I've noted that on top of Dora's fuselage there is a significant gap where the sheet metal was overlaped, and not flush. Good shots of this on the book about the Champlin Museum's Dora restoration (I was there in 1990 when her Jumos was fired up for the first time in--how long? What a sound!).
Has anyone else noted if this was on the -190As?
I can't recall if same seam is on the bottom of the fuselage.

Hey Rick,
The A and the D were pretty much the same except in the obvious
areas. My refs show them the same regarding the fuselage panel
lines both top and bottom.

Hi Rick
You're quite right, there was a prominent seam. You can see a similar join on the Bf 109.
All the best
