Hi!

I'd like to ask you what's the best option for a F-15E, scale 1/48. I have found in one storage's shelf 2 weapons sets from Hasegawa and I have decided that the next project will be a Strike Eagle displaying all the weapons she can carry.

I would take a look at the Great Wall Hobby F-15E
They make some nice kits,I enjoyed their Mig-29

Revell's F-15E is very good and cheap if you want to make one during Desert Shield / Desert Storm, I think there are aftermarket sets to make it more updated.

The GWH seems to be the one everyone is crowning "King" ATM (I have their 'I' & 'J' versions) and so I have little doubt the E is equally as good.

That said, I also have the Academy 1/48 F-15E (OIF) boxing and TBH, that will do me as it looks like an E to me and it also has excellent crew figures, a load of great A-G & A-A weapons, targeting pods and Cartograph decals as well. It's a bargain for the price and having seen one built up, it looked great.

Likewise, the Revell one is very nice (but no weapons other than A-A AIM 9L's unless you buy the pro-modeler version) so it all depends on how much you want to spend really.

Whilst GWH is probably the best all round kit, I am not too sure that the GWH kit at 2.5 times the price of the other two is actually twice the kit?

Academy model is which I have on mind. I'll try to buy on a local store, so it would be easier to get the Academy kit rather than GWH.

Pablo, the Revell kit is a bit outdated as you say, and I don't want to expense more money on aftermarket stuff.

The kit you want is (No. 12215). The earlier boxings had typical 'so so' Academy decals and basic weapons however this 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' package had new parts and weapons along with superb Cartograph decals with (full) ordnance stencils too. Being honest, the decals alone are worth the price of the kit and would probably be about the same if released as an aftermarked sheet under the name of 'Fightertown' or 'Afterburner' etc.

Buy that version and you won't be disappointed I assure you.

There's no stock for the 12215 in Madrid, so I have found the Seymour Johnson's. As I could see, it also has GBU's, A/A Missiles and some pods. A/G missiles are on the Hasegawa kit.

Would you get any cool upgrade for this kit?? Cabin, seats, PE...???
