I wonder if tamiya are struggling as they seem to be relying italeri to produce some of thier new kits, in this case, new decals, instructions, a figure and reboxed.
personally I'd call this a re-pop not a new kit persay.

I don’t think they are struggling. 1/48 and 1/32 are Tamiya’s main business. There cooperation in 1/72 with Italeri has been there for decades. Tamiya has very little original 1/72 model.
