Hi Group,

The manufacturer of this 1/48 M2 Cletrac High-Speed Tractor makes one in 1/35, but not in 1/32because he has not received many requests for it.

1/32 modelers, there is a resin 1/32 build-kit out there but it is pretty expensive. Anyone interested in a 3D printed 1/32 Cletrac?

Wow! I’d probably be more interested in the 1/35 version, as they could also serve as light artillery tractors on occasion, but the CLETRAC (Cleveland Tractor Co.) was the primary towing vehicle found on USAAF airfields, as such, I can’t understand why they wouldn’t produce this in 1/32 scale, given the number of 1/32 scale WWII USAAF aircraft coming on line lately. It would be a great display tool. But, you’d also need a suitable tow bar in 1/32 scale— are they planning one of those? Without the tow bar, the tractor is certainly not very useful in 1/32. The detail photos of the 1/48 version are a bit “clunky” in some details, like the track and windshield. I trust the larger versions are a bit more detailed in those areas?

I would definitely be interested in this at 1/32 scale!

I will be chasing at least one down in 1/48 now as well.

Cheers, D

Hi,

There's already one available in 1/32nd scale.

It's a resin kit from Commander Models, part of Iron Shipwrights. $140.

Makes a great companion piece for a 1/32 bomber kit. I have a Liberator and am tempted.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the input. It is a beautiful model. 110 parts - it in and of itself would be a showpiece. Browsing other forums, I think the price sets it apart, and people are interested in something a bit more affordable. But that Commander Models M2 is spectacular! If you build one, let us know??
