From everything I have seen and read, the kit is a pooch and it may be one of those rare occasions when you are actually better off with the Trumpeter efforts and some AM.

Whilst I am sure there will be the odd example touted in support of it, the general consensus seems to be don't waste your time irrespective of how passionate you are about the actual subject.

What a shame really as this could have been a winner for Revell rather than what seems to be a sales shelf sitter. If you do get one, don't pay retail or anything like and I have even seen these kits 'as new' offloaded on club tables at shows for just £25.00 before the lockdown. Even then, the one I saw didn't get sold!

The only build I’ve seen was on largescaleplanes (last year, I think). The builder battled on heroically and got there in the end but it was a troubled journey and you’d need to be pretty committed to having an F/A-18 in 1/32 to persevere at it.

Just to be clear, Sean, are you talking about the 1/32 or 1/48 kit?

Yes the comments I made are for the 1/32 kit only.

The Revell 1/48 kits I have seen and heard about as builds are very good indeed which makes their 1/32 debacle even more difficult to consolidate and understand how it ended up as it did...?

I just wanted to be sure. I have a couple of the 1/48 and they are pretty nice, though they have some issues. But I too have only heard dark tales of the 1/32 kits.

I did a 1/48 scale F18 Revell.......hard pass again moving forward, I also tackled the 1/32 F4 E/J combo.........hard pass on that as well, to be honest the best revell kit I have ever built is the 1/32 BF109, that one is a winner, Revell leaves alot to be desired. Pass and move on, get the trumpeter kit, you'll be better off for it.
