G'day Folks,
This old 48 scale Spitfire Mk VIII AARI kit, complete with AeroMaster decals is one of those Aussie birds that was just different in the cammo applied, to a front line fighter of the time, as the unit in question had stripped their aircraft to bare metal, having to repaint them prior to moving to Morotia Island.
The story on these is the Squadron recieved a load of paint for repainting, only to find they were supplied Folige Green, Interior Green, Light Grey and White. Hence my model subject. It is currently on Loan to the RAAF Officer Training School.
Rob.

Verrry nice, you just can't have to many Spitfires. A very interesting and unusual colour scheme, which Aeromaster sheet are these decals on?

What a great looking colour scheme. It certainly makes a change from the normal grey/green. A very neat paint job you've done there Rob.

Hi Rob
It's great to see unusual schemes - when circumstances meant the "rules" got broken is when the fun starts for modellers!
All the best
Rowan
