I am going to try and do Jersey jerk in 1/24th or 1/32nd. Does anyone know somone who does these decals and or how to make them? One idea is the ink jet and paper, but what is the best way to do this with good color definition. If decals can't be done, then how would you paint all those diamonds on the cowl?

I don't remember seeing any decals in 1/32, or 1/24 for Jersy Jerk, I will have a look back in my mags, to see if I can locate any. Printing your own could be difficult, mainly getting the colours right, I would think. It would also be difficult to get the dimensions of the diamonds right. I believe I have an old Micro Scale sheet with these markings on, somewhere, and I could send you a scan (not sure if a scan would be good enough) and you could scale up (I can tell you how to do that if you require). Masking the diamonds would also be difficult, but not impossible. One method would be to paint one of the colours, then lay tape, the width of one side of the diamond, at the "correct" angle, across the cowel, then lay tape the opposite way, creating diamonds both under the masking and in the spaces, ready for the second colour. This has some problems, other than getting the correct width and angle. You will have a double thickness of tape, creating more paint build up and more likelyhood of paint creaping under. However using Tamiya tape might solve these problems. A, possibly more time consuming method, but potentially neater way would be to lay a piece of masking tape on a sheet of glass, mark out a cross hatch pattern, of diamonds, then, with a steel rule and a scalpel, cut them out individually and lay the m on the previously painted cowel.
I will look through the back issues of some mags, and hopefully find the decals you are looking for :-) unles you are a masochist :-)

Thank you for your suggestions and I will take any scans, etc. Thanks again. David
