Okay Rivet counters turn away NOW !
I could find now verification of these makings in my reference materials but I thought the new Airfix box art looked good enough to build. So here 'tis.
The other aircraft modeled is a Cleveland 1(UK), known in the US as the Curtiss SBC-4 Helldiver.

Hi CRS
You will be pleased to know that in a book entitled "American warplanes of World War II" I have found a drawing of a Mossie in colours similar to yours.
It's a Mosquito PR mk XVI from the 653rd Bombardment Squadron (light) part of the 25th Bombardment group(R) in the 8th Air Force at Watton, Norfolk 1944/45

Cool Pete I didn't think Airfix would make such a thing up, but I couldn't find any references like you did, good on ya. By the way these are 1/72 not the 1/48 that has the book art on it.

Excellent work again CRS, a beautiful paint job on the mossie. Are the invasion stripes decals or painted on?

Martin - I hate to paint invasion stripes sooooo they are strips cut from white and black decal stock. I find solid color decal stock very useful and use it when I can Oh and thanks, gray with a dayglow tail isn't any great feat but would you believe the hard part was that little gray spot where the "P" is ?

G'day Folk's.
Excellent build up of a fine exaple of the kit, the 8th Air Force called their Mossie's F-8's.
Depending on the Squdron, depended on the spinner colour's. Yes page 86 of 'American Warplanes of World War II', does give a small side view of this bird.
