Howdy everybody! Just thought I would add some of my in progress pics of my Hasegawa F4E. So far I have the instrument panels and the ejection seats knocked out, as far as painting anyways. I have added some KMC resin intakes as well as made some castings of some KMC cockpit sidewall details and cans for it. I onlu have pics of the panels and the seats so let me know what you all think! More pics to follow. "Q"

This is how the seats started out. Base coated with RLM 66

getting a bit more detail added

Almost there!

and there you have it. I keep you all abreast of the Phantoms progress as I go. Thanks again, and please give some feed back.

Sorry for the late response, been camping in the mountains all week end. The kit is the Hasegawa F4E in 1/48. I would post some more pics, but my digital camera took a crap on me and wont let me upload any more pics to the computer. I think the PC is shot as well. If Ican find a way to get them posted Iwill. thaks for the kind words. Your Rhino looks great as well! "Q"

At the Pensacola Model Show this past weekend, a guy there brought a restored F4E that he had aquired. Not the whole aircraft, from the engine intakes forward. The back part of the aircraft was lost to fire. Was an F4E long nose. About 80% restored. Very, very impressive.

He told me that his next project was to get power to the panels and get the hydraulics working for the canopy etc. Is supposedly the only F4E/F that was released to the public. All I know is that thing is pretty fine!!

Looking at the pics of what he bought, he did a lot of work in just under a year. Nothing in the restoration is a copy, all original parts. If you live in that area, definitely a goood idea to be on the lookout for him.

That would be tooooo sweet!! Your own Rhino cockpit. I was pursuing acquiring an M551 Sheridan from a guy who actually found two of them on his property. He as going to sell them as scrap. I did 4 years on one with thte 82nd ABN and was all nutso on getting one to restore and "keep". Couldnt come up with the transportation $$$ to haul it out here at the time. Never did find out what happened to them. How much did this guy pay for his cockpit? If I'm ever in Pensacola I'll see if I can locate him. Thanks, "Q"

River, looks great. I'll get some more pics of mine up here shortly. My PC dumped on me and I was forced to get another one. Haven't taken any more pics of mt 4E as yet. I had a nice Hase' kit of the British Mk2 GR2? It has been so long since I built it, I forget the nomenclature. Anyway, it got destroyed while I was in Iraq, so that is on my to-do list. I'll keep you posted. "Q"

Gentlemen, very nice F-4's presented in this thread.
The weathering and detail work in the cockpits are very well done.

Chuck, Thanks for the kind words. Here is a couple more pics of my F4. Not much different since the last batch, but the seats are at least in the tub. The intakes are the KMC offerings. I know they are short, but they look better than the blank walls the kit offers. Hopefully I can get going on the remainder of the kit soon. Rhino, I have some molds for vets or what have you that are in between the main landing gear. I buddy of mine put some cars parts together to fabricate them. The really look good when viewed through the open vents. I'll post a pic of them. Let me know if you are interested and I can shoot a set or three your way. I have bunch of casting plastic and resin I need to pour before it goes bad. Let me know. "Q"

So thats how you do camo pattern.

WHOOA, what a model.

Those seats look real, that must have been fun. I have never done a jet. I would like to do the harrier jump jet I have always like that since the falcon wars on the news.

The panels are so detailed, that must have been interesting to do.

Happy Modeling
