I did Sd.Kfz 234/4 from Italeri with PE set from Eduard.
What do You think about my model ?
Paint job is done with Tamiya paints. Weathering is done with oils and pastels.

Husky,
Please read or re-read the forum guidelines. While we would all like to say "great job" as an encouragement for our fellow modelers, the purpose of this forum is to provide constructive criticism. The same rules apply in our Rivet Review board. If a modeler wishes to display their work in another forum then these rules do not apply.
Thanks,
Jim

Overall this is an awesome model. The build, painting and weathering all look excellent. It makes this vehicle tempting to buy.
2 things I noticed that might improve on it are
1) the PE bullet belt for the top M42 ... in my opinion these are rubbish. They look too "2D". Some of Dragon figure kits have these belts molded in plastic and would be a much better addition.
2) the stored jerry cans on the front wings are painted the same as the vehicle and weathered/chipped the same. This is very evident in the fourth picture down. Although possibly sprayed along with the vehicle, I think they look much better with an alternative yellow colour, as they will look like stowage, instead of part of the vehicle.
Small nit-picks I know, but they might be worth considering to improve on a very impressive model. Thanks for sharing!

Nice looking kit !! I love this series of armored cars... Acouple of critiques for you that I noticed ..first of all I agree with the idea of painting the Jerry cans different from the rest of the vehicle ...Second you should have changed those straps in the kit Jerry cans I always found them very ugly and look nothing like the real thing ..Apparently the eduard P/E are pretty close to the real thing. The MG 42 almost looks like an afterthought ...your metal parts should be more metalic and the wood parts just look like brown paint . The ammo belt should acctually fall staight down and not ark like you have it .. A wire from the antenae to the radio would look good and I think a bit more wear on the floor would be cool.. and last but now least ..I think you have blackened your muzzle brake way too much ...There seems to be some myth out there where muzzles should be black ...I am still looking for a picture of a tank or gun to have this effect ..Now can the barrel change color from heating ..yes but not blackened ...Powder during the second World War was "smokeless" and burned quite clean ..Don't forget that crews cleaned their guns before they ate and a clean gun meant they might survive another day . I know alot of people disagree with this but I need more proof ..Keep up the good work JW...

I agree with the above critiques. I really like the paint job and the weathering is nice! The only stuff I noticed was the coloring of the Jerry Cans (maybe all one color) and the straps, not going PE is okay, but I did notice mold lines on both the cans and the straps (not sure if the line on the can is natural, as I have seen only indented/recessed lines) Just an observation.....other than that keep up the excellent work.

I would have to agree that the jerry cans and the MG42 detract from the excellent paintwork on the rest of the vehicle. The MG42 looks like a toy more than a killer weapon IMO. I think that the stock is too light, and the metallic gunbarrel color has specks that are too large. I would use my silver/aluminum color and mix it with a black to get a dark but shiny paint

I agree totaly on whats said,
and yes, there is very very little chance that jerry cans would be in camo colour? i doubt they were already on the vehicle while the camo has been painted (in factory?), so change their colour into standars one colour, i believe it will also make your good camo work to "stand out" more!
