Hi guys. I just posted some pics in my gallery photos of the 2 P-47s I'm building for a Wolfpack dio. Sorry you have to go to my gallery to see them, but I'm still stupid when it comes to uploading pics in the forums page. Please give any suggestions or comments if you go take a look, Thanks Wingman out.

Hi Michael

Wow! you've got a production line going on there!

There's plenty to savour in those pics - the u/c looks great, and the cockpit... (I always worry about getting the terminolgy wrong; is that "Dull Dark Green"?)... what paint did you use? - it looks great!

This should be an amazing dioarama!

All the best

Thanks Merlin. I used MM medium green fs34102 for the cocpit interior. I have a question for you guys. I want to have 2 Thunderbolts[D models] taxing onto the runway. There going to be based in Boxted, I have Col. David Schilling 56th FG Commander decals. The sheet shows his rudder being yellow. Was the commanders aircraft the only one with the yellow tail? Could I put Schillings and Gabreskis aircraft together in one dio. Th reason i ask is that Gabbys aircraft had a red rudder, I'm thinkin' I can't because they were both commanders with 56th. I need to find decals of a P-47 who served under Schilling, so I'm thinking his rudder would be painted with the camo pattern instead of a solid color. THANKS for listening guys, any help would be appreciated, Wingman out.

First of all, I must say that I'm truly impressed with all the displayed aircraft in your gallery.

As for the P-47, one thought that struck me, was the nicely detailed cockpit parts. Why not add further detail by using a artistic silver pencil. IMHO it adds further depth to the surface(s)

I'm afraid, I can't be of assistance about the historical data you were looking for.

Anyway, once again impressive work, and I am looking forwards to see the completed P-47's in the future.

Hi Michael

I can answer part of your question; there were definitely other 56 FG P-47s with the yellow tail, including LM*A 228688.

Hope this helps

THANKS for the kind words GN. I have a silver pencil, don't use it all that much but I'll give it try on the edges of the black boxes, make it look like the paint was worn off. I'm going to try to simulate the props spinning on the aircraft with thin plastic cut to correct diameter and then I'll mask the areas where the blades would be plus the yellow wing tips. The fun part will be trying to attach it to the prop hub. We'll see how it goes, THANKS again, Wingman out.

THANKS for the info Merlin. I'll look for those codes in the future. I believe Aeromaster has 6 56th FG sheets out, and I think they are bringing out 3 more, maybe they will have the ones I need. I think I'm going to have to convert some figures too because I want to have a crewman on the wing of each aircraft guiding the pilot to the runway. I think I'm going to have to use the pilot that was supplied with the kit[with some conversion holding the stick]. THANKS again, Wingman out.

Hi again Merlin. I found P-47 code LM*A but it's a razorback and I'm doing 2 bubbletops. The tail code # is not the same as the one you mentioned[228688]. So I might be able to find that on a future Aeromaster sheet, THANKS again for your help, Wingman out.

You can put Gabby's and Schillings aircraft next to each other wingman. At some point in time they could have been parked next to each other and in fact I believe I have seen a picture of the two next to another in Rodger Freeman's book, "The Mighty Eighth."
