JF- re pic #1: His attitude looks all wrong for takeoff. He's running full flaps/slats, but that's pretty typical for TO/Land in these beasties. Our pilots usually Rotate as soon as the tail skid clears. He looks more like he's flared out for landing, probably going to ride ground effect past the troops in the foreground. Those thingies CAN stop on a dime- But it's a really BIG dime. Either way those poor C/E's are gonna get one HELL of a dustbath when that bird flies over...
