before i buy this kit i want to know if it is a good kit.
is there anybody who has experiance with this firm?

if i look on there site, it looks pretty nice to me.

if it isn't a good kit, are there others UH-1D's in 1:35?

It is a decent kit. Some of the detail is soft and some parts oversized. The cockpit needs a bit of work. The instrument panel is a decal, it looks pretty bad. The whole model is a scaled up 1/48 Italeri kit, so the details are scaled up as well. Rivets are huge and parts such as the rear seat support rods look to be about 6 inches thich, when in reality, they are only about 1 1/2 inches thick. Overall, not a bad kit, just needs some work.

If you want a UH-1D/H in 1/35 scale, it is the only game in town. I think the old reliable Revell 1/32 UH-1D/H model is much better and looks better when complete. The detail is finer and it builds up nicer.

If you are just looking for a Huey, the MRC/Academy 1/35 UH-1C models are excellent kits. They come with lots of extras and even a crew. The detail is excellent and they build up easily.

hmmm, ok now that was a bit of a bashing heavy arty :-)
ya gotta give this kit credit in my opinion.
Ive built just about every Huey out there, academys, revells, and when i built pandas, to be honest, i was pretty impressed, it just seemed to be very very easy to work with, the plastic is excellent quality, and in all its just a very nice, neat kit.
Although Heavy arty isnt wrong at all when he says Academys UH-1C's are excellent, because they really are, like he mentioned, you get a truck load of accessories and the crew.
BUT, for what you are looking for, i would go with Panda's kits and then just go out and buy DML's helo crew.
cheers, hope it helps

Dave,
Just telling it the way I see it. I was really excited when I heard a 1/35 scale UH-1D was coming out. When I saw what Panda had actually out out, I was disppointed. They could have done better. It is a buildable kit, just needs a lot of work to get it to look good, in my opinion.

Sherman Sam,
Yes, the MRC/Academy kit can be built as a "Slick", troop carrier. The nose mounted weapons are a separate assembly that can be left off. They have about three different versions of the C model. I believe only one comes with the nose weapons mount.

The only problem I have with the Panda kit is that there are no pilots out there that will fit correctly into the seats because the seats are enormous, the pilots lean foward waaay to much, and the feet can barely touch the pedals!

if i look at the academy uh-1's i see there is an other door than the revell and the panda kit.
can anybody tell me waths the difference?

and i am looking for some good ref. site's for the uh-1
and also for the crew and men.

Academy kits are of an early UH-1C model Huey. It was a shorter version.

The Panda and Revell kits are of the later UH-1D/H model, it is stretched and more powerful, can carry more troops/cargo.

They are different versions of the UH-1.

For the model you baught, do a google search for UH-1D or UH-1H and you will get lots of hits with a huge amount of photos and other referances.
