G'day everyone
well, for roughly 6 months now ive been working hard at the 2 main components of my latest diorama.
This, is going to be one of the parts, took me a fair while and a hell of alot of research and scratchbuilding, but i did it.
I give you the Bushranger.

brief history of these buetys
they were first put into service by the RAAF in 1969, when the need for australia to have their own gunships and escort for our slicks was growing too high to borrow help from the US all the time.
They were a UH-1H, with side mounted miniguns, XM-158 rocket pods, and door mounted twin M-60's. They were employed with the 9th squadron, RAAF. they left Vietnam in 1971.

Now then, most of you probably didn't even relaize these existed :-) but their it is, the rocket pods were scratch built, so were the arms that are holding them on.
2 things to note, the black kangaroo on the tail is facing the wrong way, that has been corrected since i took those pics, also another door mounted twin M60 was added on other side.
*note the 9th squadron RAAF's insignia on the cockpit doors.
well there you have it, the first part of what ive been up to, if you want to see the enxt part, i will be making a post in Armour soon, cheers, all coments are much appreciated.....oh ok then critisism is welcome to
cheers

Nice job there. What scale is this in? I like that yellow blade. It must have made it look so much cooler in flight.

If its the Revell kit then it would be 1/32, not 1/35. But who cares about a minor scale issue cause its a great looking model. One thing though, why are the rocket pods and the minigun on two seperate support mounts? Unless you have pics of the Hueys and they were really like that I would guess that they werent because of the risk of a rocket hitting the minigun mount.

lestweforget,
Looks great. Love what you did with the old Revell kit. It is still my favorite UH-1 kit. I have a few myself. I have one still in the box that I may do up as an Air America bird. Good on ya, mate.
