Something about that yelp and thunk at the end that brought it all together. And for those that didn't hear, the guy was saying "Don't land on my truck!"

Hey Dave! Welcome to the "shiny-side-up" side!
As I understand it, most of the offloads-gone-bad occured during the air transport Rodeo, so the failures were not just spectacular, they were witnessed by just about every Aircrew in the force! Can you say career killer?
p.s.- you know what the last thing that went through that paratroopers mind was?
The Quarterpanel!! :-) :-) #:-) :-)

Strange vehicle to use for a new land-speed record, but the idea was interesting!

Don't you just love to see what the military does with our taxpayer's money? Wait! who am I kidding? I'm 18, I hardly pay taxes! CORRECTION: Don't you just love to see what the military does with your taxpayer's money?

What a riot! That's what I call a heavy drop! Brings back memories of my Airborne days...good thing they drop those vehicles first...even so, I know of paratroopers who have been killed by strong winds slamming them into vehicles...like that last guy.
At night, you may not even see it coming....

Yep, can't remember a night jump where we didn't end up in the trees...thank God I was never left "hanging"...just bruised a few times...
I remember working the parachute details once in awhile...was lucky to help out at the heavy drop prep site once...it's pretty cool how they rig vehicles and tanks for drops...bunches of corregated cardboard and "quarter inch cotton webbing"...also known as string...
