Hi there!
I´d like to change a little of subject and build an airplane just for fun, so I gonna try a BF 109, as I posted in another topic I´m planning to make the Heinz Knoke bird, its a BF 109 G2.
My questions is: What´s the best model in 1/72, I´m planning to build out of the box (just a few scratch details, of course!).
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Paulo, I'd recommend the newer Revell Germany Me-109-G10. Fine mold and reasonably priced. However, the best ME-109 is the E version produced by Tamiya in 1/72. But for the G-2, go with Revell Germany.

Thanks guys,
Just another question, what about the models from Hasegawa?
And what is the reference for the new Revell kits?
Thanks again!

Paulo,
The Revell reference is 04160 Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10. I bought it in Paris for 54 FF (okay it was early last year.)
It cost about half what Hasegawa was and is a better fit, finer details, and is pretty accurate, imho.

Tamiya also has a couple of very good 72 scale Bf 109's.... They range in price from $12 to $18 each...

Penny, I agree, I rate my Emil as one of the nicest aircraft kits I've ever done. But does Tamiya make a G model?

If you want to build a G6 starting from a G10, you might encounter a few difficulties...
There are differences above and under the nose... and the bulge on the top of the wing
could be different (it was different on some, and the same on others...).
If I remember well, italeri has a G6. But I don't know what it's worth. It might be the same model
as the revell one (despite the differences that should be...), an old model, a newer one... I've got no idea !

Academy do a pretty good Bf-106 G6 that would be easy to back-date to a G2. Just leave off the cowling M/G bulges, and sand the U/C bulges off.
