I'm building a F-4J Phantom II and it comes with Mk-82 bombs. I'm going to have it flying in a diorama, flying away from a target it just bombed. I'm curious on what order would these bombs be released? It had room for 6 in total. Would they all be released at once, one at a time, two at a time (one on each wing), or what? Would the ones that were lowest be released first? Would there even be an order, or would it just be up to whoever was dropping it? Have I officially crossed the insane attention to detail line?

The quantity would depends on the type of target and mission. If a large complex I would guess that they would dump the entire load as to cause as much damage as possible in one run.
If a surgical strike they may decide to go one or two at a time to keep the damage "localized" I.E if only going after one building or a Sam Site in the middle of a village or town.
The quantity and order in which they would be dropped would be totally up to the pilot while in flight.
Usually these planes were loaded with enough Ordnance to get the job done.
Missions change from minute to minute. Once in the air. It is totally up to the pilot how the best way to get the job done.
So to answer your question in a nutshell. No there is no set order. It all comes down to the "Nut behind the Wheel"
Depending on how much detail you are doing and how insane you are for detail ( your words not mine). You can also consider showing the arming wire left on the racks that the bombs were dropped off of..
Sorry I took the long way to get there, but I hope it helps.

This has helped a lot guys, but I'm still wondering if the bottom bombs on the rack would be dropped before the ones on top.
