Holy crap!!!!! I'd love to see that thing up close and personal!!!!!! I'd also be interested in knowing what engines the guys is using in it. It would be a fantastic thing for him to take to airshows as a demonstrator!

It sounds like in the movie he used turbines,these are only really used on the big jets, which normally use electric or gas ducted fans instead. These are also very expensive so he probably had maybe two to four, and filled in all the other engine intakes with a dummy fan, as that wouyld be too powerful with 8 turbines. The trubines also account for the need of guys with fire extinguishers.
