An I-16... looking like a type 10 ! That's great news !
In 1/32nd scale, it shouldn't be too big it will certainly be much better then the old hobbycraft 1/48 th scale kit !

Sure and now that I have the P-59A/B Special Hobby is releasing the XP-59. Well let's see if they get it right or try to pass off a decal change. Differences are pretty sutle but require a mold change, hope they include the "fake" prop so Merlin can build one.
I forgive them only because the one at the museum I have access to is an A model.

Hi Chuck
Does access include being able to take some photos? It'd be a great subject for a reference Feature, and I could do with some cockpit and wheel-wells shots for the Hobbycraft 1/48 scale kit...
All the best

Well Rowan at the moment she's not too pretty, cockpit is stripped, no wings (standing in corner of hanger), engines are "pickled", but the fuselage is intact. So access means when it starts to look like a plane I have some reference photos of to you. It's a long project but when they are finished she'll fly, being the oldest jet aircraft to do so. Yes I know about the ME262's in Washington or Oregon but they are remanufactured this is a restored aircraft.
SO KIT 'EY !

Hubba! Hubba! Habba!
Chuck - if you can take pics pics as the P-59 is re-assembled, this will be a unique photo oportunity and real asset for Armorama!
I've found a local Spitfire "factory" ... but I'm still jealous!
All the best

Merlin, having a local Spitfire factory beats any other kind of Warbird restauration. Period.
It's the law of the Merlin. And it's in the Bible. Wait, maybe not...

Just saw some pics of the XP-59 release, taken at the IPMS Nats. They did the mold change, to my surprise, and got it right as far as I could see in the pics. But, I didn't see the fake prop or the glazed nose feature, easy enough to add for you experienced modelers.

Hi Ollie
I won't argue with another Spitfire fan - Mal would soon come and sort me out!
My plan is to try to convince the owners that it would be good publicity for them to let me visit every so often and take a load of pics for an on-line Spitfire reference section... a kind of super-walkaround.
That said, I'm not counting any chickens yet...
All the best
