Hello all, Here is my Tamiya 1/48 P-51D I have been working on. It is for my friend's birthday, so I added quite a bit of aftermarket stuff: true details cockpit and wheels, squadron canopy, superscale decals...
It was my first try at NMF, and I used SNJ and their powder. It worked pretty well except I think I had some powder residue still on while doing the other colors which caused some troubles with the non-metal colors lifting under low tack tape and even decals lifting. Once I was done screaming , I coated it with future to try to stop the problems - It did, just wish I had done it earlier. Anyway on with the pictures...
Let me know what you think - good or bad.

The Mustang looks really good
I really like the metal finish and still need to try that for myself one day Those are some really good pics too. The top shot shows some great work on a really good looking interior. Very nice job all the way around
Besides....what can I say bad about a plane that has my initials on it :-)

Wayne, thanks for responding; I really appreciate it.
It was a fun build and the NMF wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Definately give it a shot sometime...

As cliche as it sounds, I really want to get inside that thing and see if it flies! Your second photo is of extrordinary quality. The close up detail leaves the untrained and unknowing eye thinking this is of a real aircraft. Good job and keep those great pics coming.
