Hi guys. I just bought a 20MM cannon round from a vendor at the Lancaster County Airport Community Day event in Lancaster, PA. They had these setting out for sale for 7 bucks under a sign that read," used in German WW2 fighter planes". I think it came from an A-10 Warthog. The tip is light blue[inert] with the shell casing in brand new condition. That's why I think it came from A-10. Is there anyone out there who can tell me what color or colors the tip would have been when used by the German Luftwaffe in WW2. I would like to paint this the true colors and put on my shelf with my models. Thanks in advance for your help, WIngman out.

Sorry wingman but I have no references on the colour of Luftwaffe ammunition, however I am interested in the answer myself
I don't think your round would be from an A-10, the avenger cannon is 30mm, I believe.

Thanks for the correction Mal. I think I'm going to paint the business end flat black witha natural metal tip. Wingman out.
