This is airfix's 1/72 scale J.30 Mosquito used by the Swedish airforce in 1949. This is one of the better kits from Airfix I am told, and after building the kit I tend to agree with that. I chose to do the bull nose version becouse it looks so different! This kit allows you to build three different versions. And at the price is a great value. Here's the pic's.

It was a fun little build, and gave me a break from Armor.

Cheers,

Garry

Very nice.

A little weathering and it would be perfect!

Very good job.

A lovely looking job.
And it is nice to see Sweden represented.
As to weathereing...I like it the way it is, if a clean depiction is intended.
If weathering is your bag, then yes a little would not go amiss....but only a touch such as a little smoke and burnt metal on the exhausts.
Its all down to your taste.
The exhausts are very nice anyway and look like real metal...is it metalcote or some other exotic metal finisher..?

Cheers

Hi Shain,
No I did'nt build this one for the campaign, I just prefered these markings and the version represented for this plane. Thanks for the complements!

Thanks for the kind words Peter!
I do usualy weather my aircraft a bit. This was a build to get me out of the rut so to speak, so I just wanted to do a clean build. I used Model masters Titanium buffing metalizer on the exhaust. I use this same paint a lot for different metal finishes, including for gun metal . It kind of looks like a worn and polished finish.

Regards,

Garry
