A good kit OOB, but needs an aftermarket cockpit and decals. Really good fit with no filler required , only some minor sink marks. This is definately the starting point for the MiG-15 in 1/48. I'm going to adapt the Aires super detail set sometime in the future, it should yield an awesome build. Here's a few photos of the first build.

Jon, looks nice!
NMF is very hard to take photos of for some reason.. I think you are overexposing the shots.
I built the tamiya kit and liked it very much - but I can see some subtle differences such as the canopy.
Looks very good!

Nice, clean build! Looks fresh off the assembly line. I have the hobby craft 1:72 but I think I need to step up to the 1:48!

Alclad II, 5 shades and it is simple to work with. Micro-set and Solva Set on the decals directly over Alclad, no future or sealer (a first for me). The pictures are over exposed and do not really do justice to the finish, subtle weathering really enhances the finish. Sorry my digicam is not up to the task or I havn't mastered modeling photography. I highly recommend this kit for the MiG-15, it was fun to build.

Thank you for your post !! I have been wanting to do a BMF for a long time. I have tried other techniques but this looks the most promising for me. Right now im super detailing a 1/48 P61. I have in mind a 1/72 SU-7 with major surface modifications. I have seen Alclad for sale at Squadron mail order I will be checking it out.
Thanks, Cobalt
