This is my ALMOST finished base for my A1 Skyraider..

I am not going to post any shots of the A1 until after it's finished (very soon), but took some of the almost completed base.

The only other vietnam era aircraft I have finished is this North Vietnamese Air Force Mig-21 PF

So here is my base after the US left ;-)..

I have always wanted to build dioramas - and this base was my first serious attempt to make a more complex base. I learned alot about concrete and binwall..

The Mixture for concrete is Modelmaster RLM 02 mixed with modelmaster Sand.. I then did some crazy washing with oils - and finally it looks something like concrete (I hope!).

I still need to attach the basswood slats to the sides (to make it look nicer), and do some oil staining - but it's almost done.


any and all comments/critiques most welcome.
