I just bought an old AMT-Hasegawa A-6 for 3 dollars. It is in good condition, but the canopy is marked up. Since I want to make an A-6 that looks like it is an old relic and in storage, I think I should make a canopy cover (I have seen planes with these to protect the canopy over the years), and I am wondering how I could simulate this

Chris, you could try Verlinden Productions lead foil. It comes in a sheet about 4x6 and you can bend in any way you want. Hope this helps,Wingman out.

I just cut some tin foil out, and flattened out the wrinkles. Painted it black, and it looks like rubber or plastic (the effect I was going for). Thanks alot!

Another alternative is to go buy a bottle of wine. Search a little and you'll find some with the older style lead tin wrapped around the top of the bottle (more and more are plastic these days). Cut off neatly with a good knife and bobs your uncle....and then you also have a bottle of wine to enjoy for about the same price as a sheet from verlinden.

Procuring wine would be a problem for me because of my age, but if I could legally purchase it, I would definitely do so
