I have been looking for this particular kit since I was deployed in Iraq and learned of its existance. When and if it could be found, the price was usually very very high. Well I found one through a friend for $100 + shipping. What is this kit you might ask....well....how about a 1/32 EE Lightning from Echelon. I will get a pic posted of this beast once I get everything laid out. Its big and its nice....just thought I'd share.. "Q"

Hi Matthew, I read a build article on this kit, man I couldn't tackle one of those things in a million years. Hope you can post pics of your progress with this one.

I've tried vacforms - you're a braver man than I am Matthew !

Hi Matthew
Awesome! I'm really looking forward to seeing some pics once you get stuck in!
I love vacuforms! The rise in popularity of short-run injected and resin kits has pushed them out of the limelight, but vacuforms can be just as easy (sometimes easier!) to build...
All the best

Thanks for the rplies guys. I too am anxious to see this thing take form. Right now I am in the process of getting a business up and running, so time spent on actually getting to build anything is kind of scarce. I'll do what I can though to keep you all up to date.
Martin, the link is great isnt it? I already had that, but its nice to see somebody else has seen this thing as well. Hopefully I'll have this thing in hand this week so I can quit drooling! :-) "Q"

That sure as heck looks like a real toughie to try to build! I can imagine that the result would be very satisfying once you get it done.
One thing I liked about it in the link from brandy is the number of metal parts in the kit. It's too bad that there aren't many companies that will include those in their kits.
Good luck on your model and I hope we can see lots of pics as you progress through it.

Tom, not sure as to which squadron I'll mark it in. I picked up a 1/72 Lightning a few days ago, so now I have them in all three of the popular scales (yay) I am picking up a Warbird Tech book on it this week. Hopefully it will give some ideas for markings. "Q"

Well folks, it arrived in the mail today and all I can say is WOW! Large box, flat, but large. The previous owner even included some extras in the way of a magazine article and some various markings of different squadrons. I'll get some pics of this thing up on here soon so you can check it out. Now I just need to finish the other 999 projects I have going and get this one started!!! "Q"
