Hi! A friend of mine gave me a 1/48 Tamiya Douglas A-1J Skyraider (because I have been building armor these days :-)). Now I'm wondering if anyone got reference pictures/alternate color schemes aside from the box of this especially the cockpit area.
Thanks!

Uh Oh!!! We have a potiential wingie candidate. Don't worry, our conversion methods won't hurt too bad. Also doing a Skyraider for a model, you instantly become a card-carrying member of 'Skyraider Fan-club' also known as the Sandy Club. Like wingies to armor (myself), going from armor to wingie can be life changing. Good luck.

Thanks! I'll probably get another one of this. I'm really happy this dude kickass and is so massive in size for a 1/48 kit. Question, any Skyraider kits available with markings for the Korean war?

Building the 1/48th scale Skyraider, you have the choice among 3 manufacturers : Tamiya, Revell-Germany (ex. Revell-Monogram) and Italeri (ex. ESCI).
To build a Skyraider in Korea war, there are some aftermarket decal sets : Aeromaster and Eagle Strike Productions.
- Aeromaster US Navy AD-3 Skyraider "Ladies in Blue"
http://www.eaglestrikeproductions.com/cgi-bin/amddecals.pl?scale=48&setid=402&dbs=aeromaster&pgs=2&currpg=1&dclimg=ad48402
- Eagle Strike US Marines AD-4N Skyraider
http://www.eaglestrikeproductions.com/cgi-bin/espdecals.pl?scale=48&setid=107&dbs=eaglestrike&pgs=2&currpg=1&dclimg=es48107
As the US Marine AD-4N Skyraider (there are 2 bubble glass doors in the fuselage), you also need a conversion kit (Cutting Edge) :

Douglas A-1 Skyraider Reference books :

Hope this helps.

Well thanks! Too bad I don't have the cash to buy it. Maybe I'll just modify my A-1J :-)
