Academy has one. I've built it and it is a very nice kit.

Italeri also makes one. I've heard that Tamiya has their own version though I haven't seen this in stores.

Hi!
Tamiya makes the finest Corsair in 1/72 scale, but it's usually overpriced
The Academy kits also great!
Cheers

Let's see: Heller has a D, Hasegawa and Italeri have several including the a birdcage and night fighter versions, Aviation Usk has a Goodyear G-1 (longer nose and full bubble canopy) with military and racing marking, Tamiya has one, Matchbox has one, Airfix has what passes as one but isn't worth a firecracker to blow it up.

For price, accuracy and ease of assembly, get either the Academy for the F4U-1D or Italeri for the F4U-4/5/5N. You won't regret it.

like everyone else says you can't ever go wrong with academy, but if you are willing to pay the price(about $15) the Tamiya kit would be absolutely perfect, and a dream to build. just my $.02

Hey andy007,

Check out Ebay. You'll surely find varieties of kits at good prices here.... AFAIK, there's an Australian Ebay site too, and the link to this should be available at the Ebay site. I have been buying at Ebay for nearly 6-7 months now, and haven't had any problems so far..

Rgds,
BP.

I built a 1/72 Hasegawa Corsair about 6 years ago. Neat little kit. Fell together and the fit was excellent. Always room for addition of aftermarket or home built details. Built mine out-of-the-box. Its pretty cheap too! The version I did was the later version (not birdcage) and NOT the night fighter version. Its on the box in all-over gloss sea blue.
