Hi John,
I'm a target (tank) guy. But I have an F-100 I need to do.
If you would:
What shades of Alclad did you use?
Where did you get that stand?
Also, your work on this model is great. Makes me want to do one of my own.
Welcome to Armorama.
Chuck

Aluminum AC101 as the baseshade, Duraluminum on the wing box, white aluminun on the nose, 6-3 wing kit and control surfaces, steel on the gun blast panels, stainless steel on the rear hot section & dark aluminum behind this section, and light aircraft gray on the fin cap. Great stuff to work with, the key is the prep work.

Looks good, I only have one color of Alclad, and I haven't tried it yet. You are supposed to prime with gloss black paint. Alclad would want you to use their black primer, but I have been told that normal gloss black works well also. As well it should be polished out, the black primer that is(I think)
I too would like to know where you got that nifty stand from, that would come in very handy!!

Chuck, Scott, I'm not sure where Raptor got his stand, but I was just over at the local HobLob on Sunday & saw some there. Not sure about price, but I'll check next time I'm there.

I did buy the stand at Hobby Lobby (about $21 USD).
It makes a great third hand and probably will come in very helpful during decaling. This is the first time I have used it so I'm still exploring its use. This manufacturer has a web site but I can't recall what it is and it is not a favorite on this computer, I'll post it later.

That is looking good. Also a rather interesting stand, will have to keep a eye out for one, since we don't have Hobby Lobbies up here.

It looks great so far. One thing I noticed, however. The center section of the wing you have painted a darker silver. In these two reference photos, it is actually a lighter color, not darker.

Hi John, looks nice so far. Scott is right about the wing panels being lighter in color (if one is interested in that sort of detail) as they were milled from solid aluminum so they could be tapered from root to tip.
