Posted: Friday, October 22, 2004 - 07:06 AM UTC
Thanks guys, I enjoyed building it and learned alot from my first attempt at a winter white wash scheme. I'll be doing a few more I need a B-3 and a desert scheme.
I'm curious, any thoughts about the base and can anyone spot the diliberate mistake

MMM...superior work as usual Mal, and I'd have to say any mistake on your part would likely be intentional.
The base is convincing, except that I see no tyre tracks or footprints in the snow...Intentional, or just not shown in the photos? Without signs of ground movement, I'd expect to see a bit of snow on the surface of the A/C.
Also, knowing very little of this plane, I wonder about the position of the cannon barrel(45 deg from true...)
Otherwise, Stellar as usual!

Hi Robert, Points taken about the base. There are actually tyre tracks there, but I moved the model around on the base for better pics at different angles. I really just wanted to see how the winter scheme looked against a "winter" background. What I should have asked is, what do you think about my snow?
I asume you mean the flash hider on the Mk 103 cannon under the nose? That is correct. There is something that is missing :-)

Hi Mal
I think it looks really effective as either the first dusting of Winter, or the beginning of the Spring thaw.
Either way, it's a superb build.
All the best

I was going to do a thicker covering of snow but the boss wanted to use some of the baking soda :-)
LOL, Rowan, not often are you right, but..............WRONG again, LOL
The missing thing is actually visible, errrrrrrrrrrrrr, not visible in that pic :-)

Well, mal, since you've got the DF loop antenna on the top, I think you don't need a mast/HFcableto the vertical...so speaking of verticals, I'll go with a certain "missing" decal on the Vertical fin...
RobH
( & It'll do my ego good to know I got it before the Magician!) :-)

errrrrrrrrrrr how can I put this, well errrrrrrrrrr you are sort of correct, but it's not what I was refering to. I have actually forgotten the swastika No defence, there wasn't one on the decal sheet and I guess it just never crossed my mind (suppose I could say this aircraft never carried one but guess they all did). I will now have to get one on there On reading Roberts post I actually went to look at the model, not believing I could be so daft, but I am #:-) Errrrrrr thanks for pointing it out Robert :-)
So, no that wasn't the diliberate mistake

Great job Mal. Your winter camo and your step by step story are outstanding, nice work, Wingman out.

Hi Mal
Well, if the deliberate missing "thing" is (not) visible in the snow-man pic, maybe it's some paint chipping - the propeller blades, in particular, look very fresh (replacements?).
All the best

If the missing thing were not missing, it would be visable in the snowman pic, but as the missing thing is missing it cannot be seen in the snowman pic.
The props are a little more weathered than they appear in the pics. I'll think about adding a little more, when I add the missing thing :-)
