I have enough aircraft pictures and walk arounds to start a new section on Prime Portal dedicated to aircraft and helicopters. The section for military ground vehicles was named "The Battlefield". Now I need a name for the aircraft section.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!
Don

" The Airfield "
" The Hangar "
" Flight of Fancy "
" Warbirds "
" The Airstrip "

I agree, The Hangar or some derivative of, would fit the bill.

"The Airstrip" is more of an analogy to "The Battlefield" so I vote for that.

I must admit, the first thought I had was the Hangar before posting this message, The Tarmac sounds cool, but at the same time what Rob said about The Airstrip is very true as well. Winged Warriors is a good name as well, but it sort of excludes helicopters IMO.
So here we go, we limit it down to these three. The one with the most votes by this evening is the name I'm going with. Time to cast the votes:
1 - The Hangar
2 - The Tarmac
3 - The Airstrip
By the way, there are two very nice high resolution walk arounds that are leading off on this section tonight - A Lancer C and an Italian AMX. There will also be a MiG-29 shortly!

In military jargon the airstrip is called the flightline, so why not "The Flightline"??
Otherwise i like "The Tarmac"

Dbusack -
Since not every airfield has a "Tarmac" (many pastures, fields, decks, etc.) or for that matter a "Hanger" (barns, revetments, etc.). How about the
"Flight Line" ? Of those that you listed as choices, I'd go with Tarmac. Just an old Air Force guy's thoughts.

Ok, if I am counting correctly (this is including the suggesting of the names)
The Hangar - 1
The Tarmac - 1
The Airstrip - 2
The Aerodrome - 1
The Flightline - 2
The voting continues....

As the voting continues I was just wondering how many procent of the voting districts have reported in. Oh yeah, have all of the absentee balots been counted also... (couldn't resist thinking what was accomplished this week in the US...)

I rather like "The Airfield". It keeps with the name "The Battlefield".
